Flowers are nature’s fireworks,
Especially the month of May.
The explosion of colour
Truly takes my breath away.
From the finest artists’ hands
Come morning, day and night
In all their different hues
And every shade of light.
Swaying in the gentle wind,
Majestic, sleepy or gay
Scenting the flowing air
With heaven’s secret spray.
Feeding hungry insects
Drawing the busy bees
Protecting small creatures
Decorating spring’s trees.
The pink, flowery beds,
The evening, velvet rose
Subtle changes of smell
That lift me to my toes.
So when you’re feeling down
And energy starts to drain
Think of nature’s fireworks
To fill your heart again.
